Board of Directors

The First Stage Board of Directors consists of elected community and parent representatives who oversee the financial management, policy development and general operations of First Stage Child Care Centres.

The Board of Directors for FSCCC would describe their role as one of servant leadership. Through a close collaboration with the Program Manager and the site Supervisors, the Board aspires to improve the lives of the children they serve, and thus build a better community.

The role of the Board of Directors is to:

  • Ensure the effectiveness, sustainability and reputation of FSCCC

  • Provide strategic direction for the organization

  • Create an operating framework of policies and procedures

  • Support FSCCC leadership and staff growth

  • Manage fiscal responsibilities

Board members meet on the last Tuesday of the month from September through June (with the exception of December). Information regarding the dates, locations and times for the meetings can be obtained from the site Supervisors. All meetings are open to parents and staff.
